How it Works
Arrive for your first class. Come by the school and take your first class for free.
Pick your program. Sign up online to the program that works best for you. We have monthly and weekly options available.
Log into our platform. This is where you can schedule classes (Real World student) and review our lesson materials.
Grab a cafecito before class. All students get unlimited artisanal coffee for free, directly sourced from a local farm.
Want extra practice? Every day we have elective conversational classes: beginner level in the morning, intermediate-advanced in the afternoon.

A Letter From Our Owners,
BaseLang Medellín originally opened its doors to give back to this incredible city, creating a physical home where language learners could land, immerse themselves, and experience the culture firsthand. It quickly became a place where fluent Spanish wasn't just taught but lived.
But recently, this special community almost disappeared.
The Rescue Mission
I'm CJ, and not too long ago, I was just a student sitting in these exact classrooms. I fell completely in love with the school: the brilliant teachers, a methodology that actually works, and the undeniable vibe of the community.
When I found out the school was facing permanent closure, it broke my heart. I couldn't stand by and let this community vanish. So, I did what any passionate language lover would do: I told Luke we had to save it.
Luckily, he was completely on board. We took a massive leap of faith, bought the school, packed up our family, and moved our entire lives to Medellín to keep the doors open.
The Next Chapter
We didn't come here as corporate outsiders looking for an opportunity. We came because we were already a part of this community, and we wanted to protect it.
Now, we are pouring everything we have into making it better than ever:
CJ is still on the ground every day as both a student and owner, ensuring the core magic, the amazing staff, and the welcoming vibe never change.
Luke brings his master's in adult education to the table, working behind the scenes to upgrade our programs, launch new group classes, and keep our curriculum world-class. (He also makes a mean latte to fuel your study sessions!)
The original heart of the school is exactly the same, but a new chapter has officially begun. We are investing in new programs, fresh energy, and deeper community experiences. Whether you live in the city permanently or are just visiting for a few weeks, this space is built for you.

Yes, we do. To complement our Real World (RW) curriculum's elective lessons, we offer guided Group Conversation Classes, designed to enhance your speaking skills in real-life contexts in Medellín. These are included in Real World Plus and Unlimited monthly versions, but for the other RW programs, they can be purchased as an add-on for $50 USD.
Just send us a message on Whatsapp and let us know when you’re planning to arrive so that we can block off a teacher for your free class.
Or drop in the school during business hours, and provided that we have availability, you can take your free class there and then.
Absolutely. It’s common for online students to study at the Medellin school. In fact, in the platform there is an option to change your current plan to a Medellin plan.
Our Medellin teachers will even have access to your online progress sheet, so that you can pick up exactly where you left off in online classes.
Studying at our Medellín school is about more than just learning Spanish, it’s about getting a taste of Colombian culture. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted with typical paisa hospitality and be offered a Colombian cafecito sourced from a local finca (farm).
Plus, every week we host free activities, such as Yoga classes, Salsa lessons and a language exchange.
We don’t take care of any accommodation.
However, our school is located in Laureles, one of the best neighborhoods in the city which has a array of different hotels, hostels and Airbnbs within walking distance of the school.
